We don’t arrive, we grow. ~Mark Nepo

I am a licensed Marriage and Family therapist (MFC44169) and California Board Certified Art Therapist (06-006). I obtained my M.A. in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Art Therapy from the University of Notre Dame du Namur in Belmont (2001). I am an active member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. In addition to my private practice in Half Moon Bay, California, I am Specialized Program Coordinator of Mental Health services for the Cabrillo Unified School District. Please note that I am currently keeping my private practice small and am most often at capacity.

My areas of expertise include trauma, mood disorders, life transitions, relationships, parenting/co-parenting, and grief/loss. My approach is guided by Humanistic Existential principals. My focus is strength-based, with an emphasis on the body-mind connection. My interventions are eclectic and tailored to the needs of my clients.

I am bi-cultural Peruvian and bi-lingual Spanish. My country of origin is Peru but have lived most of my life in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have been married for 29 years and have two children (16 and 20). I seek for the pearls of wisdom that are buried within the challenges and struggles in our lives and consider the beautiful imperfections a gift. I support my clients as they examine their needs, struggles and pain through a similar compassionate lens.
